Rhett is the head of Hemming+Hart’s Commercial Property group. He has over 10 years experience as a lawyer. His expertise extends to all forms of transactional work involving property including, overlapping work in Corporate Law where corporations are involved.

- Sale of a $14m shopping centre;
- Coordinating and advising on all property and planning aspects associated with a private equity buyout of a majority interest in one of Australia’s largest privately owned mining accommodation/catering companies. Providing and continuing to provide all property related legal advice to that company;
- Advising Queensland’s largest privately owned Fuel Wholesaler/Retailer in relation to its property and planning requirements (including Oil Code compliance);
- Acting for one of Qld’s prominent project home building companies in relation to its property and franchising requirements;

Advising on all ‘whole of mine’ legal issues associated with an operational coal mine including:
- mine expansion project (mining lease applications and EIS process) and related infrastructure (including haul roads, rail and port) issues;
- native titles issues;
- cultural heritage issues including drafting cultural heritage management plans;
- general advice on mining tenure;
- advice on overlapping tenure issues including drafting and negotiating co-development agreements and co-ordination arrangements;
- land access and compensation.
